Woke up this chilly morning & found our Squirtle in his food bowl like this. . .

I love it! One of my sullys takes food with him when it's bath time. Guess he's packing a snack in case he gets hungry.

They're smart little animals.
Like to travel even for small distances with a meal in handy lol

Thank you! Still waiting for my tort to stop with the shyness & become a little more playful with us.
For now he does love to eat out of my hand so that is good :D
He's still a baby. 4 months old, so we have a lot of time ahead of us

Train them while they still young Right? If he already can eat off your hand, he should be very easy to get use to of you handling him. I got my Hermanns as adult, but none of them are shy. they will follow my wife's heel around to soliciting for food.

Aww they follow her for food? How cute :D
Mine at the moment just crawls to the edge of his enclosure & looks up at me if I haven't already set down a fresh plate of greens for him lol
