Hello all,
Here's my issue I live in Jacksonville Fl so of course Fleas are a big issue,
Even though I don't have any dogs and all my cats stay indoor all the time this does not keep us safe from fleas. In the past we treated our yard every 3 months with the powder you get at home depot. I would just put a blanket over my turtle pond and over my tortoise area.
However this year we've started to rebuild the tortoise area 10x20 and will be 5 foot high so there is no way I'll be able to cover it. we're also enlarging the turtle pond so again we won't be able to safely cover it. I also started growing most of their food so they are eating healthy.
So I'm looking for safe ways to treat my yard without hurting my red ear sliders, or my red foot tortoises. I have been looking in to Nematodes but it's hard to say weather it would be a good thing or a bad thing to buy them one post it looks like a good idea and the next says it can cause hookworms.
Has anyone else looked into these little guys?
Thanks
Charlotte
