Hello Everyone, My question is. Can an egg be rotting in the tortoise, before she expels it?

Interesting question. I think I've read that it is possible, but I have no firsthand knowledge about it.

Yes......Causes ruptured Ovaducts, Septocemia, and all sorts of other Reproductive problems........

However, Female Tortoises, or Reptiles in general, do not "expel" bad Eggs once they've become Egg bound 9 times out of 10.......There is a small window where Oxytocin may work, but once those chemical cues are gone, the Egg laying process is over and whats left in, stays in.......Unless Surgically removed......
