I would also argue "dangerous" in many cases.2. Chinese lamps, in general, have issues with safety and quality (reliability and lamp live span).
For God sake this is the second time I got the wrong one thank you so much for the link to itYes, unfortunately, there are no cheap and good options for UVB lamps.
1. This is an 8W lamp, too weak to provide enough UVB for Hermann's. Only ZooMed makes shorter tubes with sufficient output (T5 Reptisun 10.0 15W)
2. Chinese lamps, in general, have issues with safety and quality (reliability and lamp live span).
I would get a lamp from Arcadia:
https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/arcadia-prot5-uvb-kit-desert-12#prot5-kit-12-24w (it's not extremely expensive but has superb quality). This lamp should be installed at 18-20" above substrate. If enclosure height is low, you can get a Forest 6% lamp (installed at 12-13" above substrate). You can set UVB lamp on timer for 4-6 hours a day and it should last around 2-3 years before replacement (just tube, not the whole kit).
Just in case, don't hesitate to ask here before ordering something. This tech stuff is very confusingFor God sake this is the second time I got the wrong one thank you so much for the link to it![]()

It is yeah when I first got my hermann I had a heat lamp that had uvb built into it but I learned that was bad so I separated the heat and uvbYes, that's the right UVB lamp! The black dome is the basking (heat) lamp, right?
