Need advice after first hibernation

Hello! My family adopted a box turtle last summer that was found in our housing development. I was very relieved today when he popped up after his first hibernation with us! I seem to remember reading last summer that they should be soaked after hibernation but I can't seem to find anything about that now. Any advice? He has an outdoor pen and spent the winter outside. I know he's probably survived plenty of springs without me but I want to do whatever I can to keep him healthy. Thanks!

I don't own any box turtles but have a feeling they are very find of water.
You might look under " forums" and find the box turtle area.
People seeing your subject title are probably not thinking box turtle.
I would put " Box Turtle" in the subject, to attract those owners, who can help you.
Good luck!

They love water, so warm water soaks after hibernation are important, then make a soaking pool in his habitat and you will see he will spend most of his time in the water...
Do you know what kind of box turtle it is?

It's always better to put a pict of the box turtle in its enclosure for us to see . It helps us see what box turtle it is . Yes box turtles and torts like soaks in warm water .
And welcome to the TFO from AZ. And Clynn have a great day ! :)
