Need a couple IDs please

First one is a ground cover that is all over my front yard right now.

This one I don't remember ever seeing out there before.

Need to know what they are and if they are edible or toxic. thanks!!

I'm fairly certain I have found the second image to be edible but not worth feeding but I cannot find the top image's ID anywhere I hope someone can help me!! Here's another photo up close and picked from the yard.

Okay I think my unidentified plant may be Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) I'm so confused though!!! the Russiantortoise.net websites edible plany list says it's safe to eat while the Tortoisetable.org says no!! Anyone know for sure which is right??
