I was surprised when I walked out back today to find my adult male ca desert tort sitting on the patio. I just got him a month before he went into hibernation, and I was kinda worried about the whole thing. So now Im tossing his temp house and giving him his new house that I built a few months ago. He walked right up to it and stuck his head in. Now he just sits, wont go in quit yet.

make sure he has access to a nice drink of water. Some like to drink it from a puddle from a running garden hose..
he may not eat right away.. he needs to adjust, wake up and get warm.

He ate right away, I gave him a lil food and he took it. An hour later I put him water about 1.5 inches deep. He drank some and 10 minutes later I set him back on the patio. He does look a lil confused though.
