My Bella is a 6 year old Russian, I am certain of her age as her previous owner had her from a hatchling. I measured her the other day and she measures 8.6", this seems quite large considering I've read that Russians tend to only reach 9-10" and that they aren't considered fully grown until they're in their 20s. Is her size surprising or is it quite common to get large Russians? Also, worryingly she seems quite under weight according to the cWT/tWT = tBMI calculation, though I take this with a pinch of salt as she seems perfectly happy, healthy and active in herself.

How are you measuring her?

Post a pic of her next to a tape measure. What is her weight in grams?

Just to give you a reference, my female Russian "Lucy" is 5.9" long (straight line shell measurement) and weighs 680 grams. She eats good but is very shy. She has a good solid feel when I pick her up.

She does not like boys; but just in case I've told her she can't date until she's 7" long! :)

I'll estimate her age at maybe 4 years; I received her on 9/11/11.
