Hi Porter:

Welcome to the forum!! ("not really posted much..." - I'd say not at all!! )

I love your little redfoot's habitat! You've done a wonderful job of making him comfortable. Looks like you might be giving Terryo a run for her money in the pretty habitat dept.

The only thing I see that I would change would be to dig away some of the substrate around the waterer and feeder so that their edge is level with ground-level.

Good job!

Ditto what Yvonne said. Personally, I don't like the jagged fake rock bowls and use a large plant saucer (plastic or glazed) for the water, sunk to the rim. Try it- you'll be amazed at how much more often they freely soak and drink.

Food dish- similar thing. Try a flat slate or old plate set flat in the sbstrate instead- easier access to the food

Your enclosure looks great. What size tank is that? I would also use a saucer for easy access for both water and food.

So, do all the shells mean you also have hermit crabs in there?

All fake? :( I'm not a greenthumb by any stretch, but you might try replacing them slowly with small potted plants. Ferns are good start. You can leave them in a pot and just set them in the habitat with some cypress piled up somewhat to hide it. So far, the only fern my guys have tried to eat is the Elkhorn Fern, which has a very lettuce-looking leaf.

Real plants offer you some advantages- better humidity and 'air conditioning' (which comes in very handy if you need to cover the habitat more tightly in the winter) are two biggies.
