My male Russian tortoise (Boris) seems to think it is Spring as he is following all the females around mating with them. Last Spring after he woke up he followed the females around mating with them, but after a month or so he left them alone. He has been burrowed during the hottest Summer days here in Southern California, but now he is up acting like it is Spring. Is this normal behavior? My females are slowing down now as they sense Winter is coming, but not Boris.
