we got a new leopard tortoise and we've had him for about a year and he was eating fine and now we brought him inside and no matter what we try he wont eat and hasn't eaten for almost 2 weeks. I've read a lot of the posts on here and i've tried putting more heat on and giving him water and neither has worked. we have him in a wood cage that is on top of turf and is about 6x4.

I'm sorry to hear about your tortoise.

Do you mind posting a picture of the setup? Also, let us know the temperatures within the enclosure.

should i use sand instead of turf? and how would i raise temps?

No sand can cause impaction if eaten and may irritate the eyes. The best substrates to use orchid bark, cypress, and/or coco coir.

You could use a floor heater, ceramic heat emitter with thermostat, or raidient heat panel.

Do you have a uvb light?

@Yvonne maybe able to help with this more so than I.
