An alternative is to keep placing different types of plants in there and find out which ones are left untouched then keep those. Usually the newly introduced plants are the ones that get the most attention for a few days. After that, my torts just dig into the base of the plant or do their drive-by butt rubs on them but the plants stop being eaten.

What did you make the walls of your table out of??
I've got a huge base started for my future Hermanns myself.. but i like the way your walls turned out!
Looks great!

Thanks! I forget what kind of wood the top part was, but the bottom is just plywood with stain on it, you can't even really tell the difference between the plywood an the more expensive wood on the top

Update: I got the book naturalistic keeping an breeding of hermanns tortoises and it made me feel like crap, so I decided to try an make the indoor inclosure a bit more natural. Added a bunch more plants, rocks, wood an hills! Looks amazing! What are the measurements (length, width, depth) of the top table?

Thanks! It's 4 feet wide by 8 feet long an then the top level adds on another 3 feet so really it's 4x11, an the sides are 16" high. But on the very top it's all plexi around an not 16" probably about 10". No escapes in the 2 years so it's pretty sure it's good!

Nice use of live edible plants that they can munch on.When growing rose bushes outside they need full light,so these roses are surviving of the UVB bulb.

You can always leave the plants in pots and have them sticking up a few inches above substrate level. That way the pot acts as a barrier and the plants are more a wall/shade than a walk-on garden salad.

Awesome enclosure(s), btw. Gotta love planted up habitats :D
