Musk thistle

This is the purple type of thistle. I heard sow thistle is good for torts but what about musk thistle? Got a few germinating right now.

sow thistle is not so closely related to regular thistles: it just shares a common name...a lot of thistles are so spiny as to be inedible regardless of their toxicity or lack thereof. I'd look more into the genus and species for your thistle and see what you can find:
