Hey guys. I just refreshed Keyser's substrate and scrubbed all of his items clean today after finding a large quantity of small, mite-like bugs all around his area. There must have been at least a few hundred when I got down deep, mostly on the bottom layer of newspaper I had laid down. Now, I'm pretty sure that I have nothing to worry about, as I'm assuming these are just wood mites, but being a snake owner, I know mites can be no laughing matter (snake mites... yikes). Also, these ones are yellow/translucent (the dangerous ones all seem to be black).

Still, just in case, I wanted to make sure they can't hurt him (not that I want them in his home anyways - I spent an hour today eradicating).

Never had mites just those pesky little flying bugs but that has taken care of with a substrate change and enclosure scrub. Prefer to only have things I put in myself....
