How to rid mites?

Hey, Been awhile. I was just curious if that mite spray worked to rid mites? is it safe for tortoises? I dont think he had mites I think its springtails but I want to make sure he is good to go. I moved into a basement and there are all sorts of bugs down there I wanna be safe.

DE! Gets rid of the bad but not the good crawleys. I still have all my worms and things but all the little fruit flys and black ants and no seeums are gone. Make sure you get food grade from a tractor or farm supply store.
