Hey there, this is our recently turn 1 year old Hermans called Tank (not a very original name I can see from other forum posts) and although a replacement for Taco (who had a metabolic bone diseases which ended his short life far too soon) Tank is a robust and active and very hungry tortoise.

I am looking for help as two days ago we saw something strange in his/her month (too young for sexing ) which didn't stop eating or activity and we did take him to the vet by which time it was gone, but whatever this is stayed for about 24 hours and I have no idea what it was so thoughts / suggestions most welcome. It was too shiny for good and it looked round.

Tank is fine and dandy now but just interested in what this was?

Many Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Tank. Cute tortoise. Hopefully an expert will be able to help you.

Looks like something he picked up off the floor - a bead or something.

What a cutie! How strange though, it almost looks like a bubble on the photos but I’m guessing it was solid, hopefully it stays gone!

Weird. I guess it is gone now, swallowed and hopefully will pass through!
