So Rolo was in the water soaking and I noticed a weird flesh like thing hanging out of tail. I turn her/him over and there was a fleshy whatever that he/she retracted back in when I picked it up! So was that the penis? I’m confused. And I was freaked out not realizing what it could be! I wasn’t long, it was more like a weird suction cup like thing? I don’t know what a tort penis looks. I saw it and I wish I can take that out of my memory!!! I could have gone my whole life without seeing that!!! He/she is 10 months. I told my son that she’s a he! And my son was so happy!
Is he going to be “showing” this appendage on a regular basis? He’s been acting weird lately. Very indifferent! Do males act hormonal? I know he’s waiting to get real sunlight and be outdoors but Missouri weather is all over the board!

Yes, you saw the penis. They frequently extend them out while soaking. From what you are describing, you only saw the tip of it. Be prepared to see a fairly long organ for the size of the tortoise as he gets more mature.
