Male or female?

Now that I know this is an organ, I was told as hatchlings this was a female. While soaking the other day I saw "her" head lowered in the water, her rear up in the air, and a little something poking out from "her" under shell. Thoughts? When turtles and tortoises are hatchlings, they all look female. The males don't start to develop the male characteristics until they reach a size where they are getting sexually mature. Your box turtle is male.

Not necessarily. I kinda' think odd ball names are cute. I have a female cat named Spencer.
