Do you guys ever make stuff for turtles?
What kind of stuff do you make?
Are there any materials you should stay away from?

Stay away from any material you do not want them eating because sooner or later, they tend to try eating everything they come across. :D

I've made them Artificial Grasslands (bought some mortar/cement.. cut up my plastic grass and while the cement was about 40% dry I stuck them all in. This works well as my torts won't eat the grass (plastic) and I can position the grass spots (I have a sparse and dense setting) anywhere in the enclosure to create blocks for them to walk through or around.

I've also made them a hut (this is a hideout for them). As they are star torts and not in the water. I made it out of clay, painted it, glossed generous amounts of PVA glue over it for it to harden.. stuck gravel on it (to prevent the torts from citing on the clay), putting yet more PVA glue on top to make sure it's secure (we don't want loose gravel on the menu). then put on some waterproof gloss on it. (the waterproofing is for the pee + humidity)

yesterday I made them a bridge (rolled up paper and wire). but they were to freaked out to climb it. :S so my husband flattened it and now it's a platform. *sigh*

it ur planning to make anything to be placed underwater, just make it from cement/ mortar. turtles/ torts will bite anything. so make sure it's not easy to be bitten off or that it come off easily.
