You do realize they can not live together right? Tortoises should never live in pairs. Very stressful on both specially the female who the male will try to breed to illness or death.

Are you thinking to breed them? I just introduced a 10 yr old female to my 7 year old. They definitely need to be separated. So they cannot see each other. So the barrier needs to be solid. If it's a chain link fence. They will get through it or injure themselves trying. If you think about breeding them. There are so many breeders now that have good reputations. It might be tough to sell and make a profit.

Yes. I do. We have a big space for both at our school. Thanks for your input

Please show pictures of the spaces/enclosures at the school (and at home). The problem with sulcatas is that they get quite huge and need LOTS of room in what seems like no time. They also need to be warm.

Gosh I wish schools taught the mathematics of the lifespan and proper needs of tortoises that the vast majority of those born will not live long happy lives in appropriate care conditions and it’s far better not to breed more for “demonstration”purposes.

I work in schools, every teacher who wants to teach about reptiles thinks they are imparting “good” information and instead are just giving another generation of kids the same bad information, so they go on to get (and god forbid teach one day) perpetuating the cycles.

The number of Sulcatas born vs those that will lead long happy lives is inversely proportional. Mating Sulcatas for classes does no one, not the torts and not the kids, any good in the long run.
