Cool fathers day present. He's two inches long. Don't have a weight yet will get one when he is settled in . Got he's enclosure set up . Humidity is at 70 % a little higher in the hide .The temperatures are 94 in basking spot 83 in the rest of enclosure and 79 in hide .Will add some plants later . Hope you all like my set up . Its a 75 gal . reptile tank with air holes in three of the four sides for good air circulation.

O yes I know how big they get . I have all the space he needs and my house and land are payed for so I'm not planning on moving ever. I hope him and my three red footed tortoises out live us all. And no way do a keep the two species together.

A tortoise is the best gift :)

How do you manage to keep the humidity at 70% with air holes on 3 sides of the tank?
I, too use high humidity but have every possible hole closed up :) so it all stays inside the tank.

Congrats on the new shell friend!

I just put the enclosure together with new bedding. I had to soak it in water and that was the magic. Plus I keep the top covered3/4's of the way . So my plan will be the same every two days or so i will pour a 1/2 gal. Of water over it and mix it all up . Or use the humidifier I have but I'm trying to do it without the humidifier

Awesome gift. I just got my first tort, Russian, for my birthday. My oldest has claimed it in the will as we hope it will out live us - he is about 8 months old from what they told us. I should have it checked but need to find the right vet.

Up date on my sulcata I got for fathers day . He is doing great and growing. We finally named him Dozer. Its a fitting name to, he's already a earth mover. The first picture is when I got him. The second picture is today . Thanks to Tom and his humid way of keeping sulcatas no pyramiding to be seen .:D
