Live plants for turtle table

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum here but I've owned my tropical tortoise for almost a year now. I recently built him a table and I wanted to know about what types of live plants would do well in a tropical environment (hot and humid) and would be safe for him to eat if he did so. Thanks!

I don't suppose it really matters, but I always like to know what type of tortoise we're talking about before I give any answers.

Having said that, almost all the house plants you can buy at the nursery come from tropical environs. However, not all tropical/house plants are edible.
