Lining for tortoise table

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what people line their tortoise tables with. I have used garbage bags for years which I staple into the table, which have never really ever been a problem. But I’ve realized these may contain toxic chemicals, which I want to avoid. My tortoise never really has any contact with the lining considering the substrate is deep, but I’d like to use something a little safer.

You can use the plastic shower curtain liners or buy a roll of plastic from a fabric store. Some will also use pond liner.

I have used 6 mil clear polyethylene sheeting for years and it’s been excellent. I won’t use anything else now. I buy it on Amazon, but I’m sure there’s other places to get it.
