No, halogens aren't recommended since they are too harsh. Try to find a INCANDESCENT flood light.

Arcadia sells incandescent flood bulbs.

Avoid halogens, mercury vapours and spot bulbs.. reptile floodlight for basking, pro rep and Arcadia do them, and t5 for uvb
