Hello tortoise community just a quick question I have 2 horsefield tortoise in the summer can they go with out their light n heater of they go outside in summer I spoke to a horsefield tortoise breeder a few months ago he said hes never used lights for his and that they dont need it hes are outside in summer when winter hibernation

Assuming weather is warm enough, this would be fine.
However, tortoises (especially Russians) are solitary, territorial animals that should never be kept in pairs, especially when they are different sizes. While the picture looks cute, they are actively displaying aggression towards each other. “Cuddling”, “following”, sleeping together, sitting on top of each other, standing on food, and just being together in general is one tortoise trying to push, chase, and stress the other out of its territory. Groups can sometime work, but pairs do not. Yours need to be separated.

This all depends on temperatures. We use artificial electric lights and heat sources to maintain the correct temperatures for species being kept in different parts of the world than what they are evolved to deal with.
There is no part of England where the climate remotely resembles the Asian Steppes. Because someone else did something and the animal managed to survive it somehow, does not mean its the best way to go.
