Hello everyone,
I recently became a tortoise mum to franklin who is a year old Horsefield tort. He has a tort table and currently has a 125w full spectrum bulb that is doing uv/ heat at once. He is perfect and seems very healthy, other than a wee back nail missing which he'll be visiting the vets about. However, his light source is attached by a clip light and sits 12" above his play area with temps of 33oc. I'm looking to get some info re suspended lighting that isn't fixed as I don't want to start drilling into his table. Any ideas?? I have visions of coming home to find the bulb in the table!!
Many thanks,
Lucy

Hello and Welcome :) Yes, you do need to find another way to hang the light, or it is very possible you would come home to not only the light in the table, but possibly a burnt tort or house. Post a pic of the light fixture you are using.

If the tort table is near a wall you can;

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Knape-Vo...t-HD-0099-12WT/100523416?N=5yc1vZc89kZ1z0tuqv

You can adhere it to the wall and drape the cord and fixture over it and secure with a zip tie...

Or you can;

Or;

see the wood post as the light fixture location...

Or, this is one of the Forum members;

Just some shares of what others have done....:D
