How often should you renew your light and CHE?

If it's a UVB tube, every 6-8 months depending on use (8 vs. 12 hours daily). Any other lights will tell you when they need replacing...

CHE's can last a lonnnggg time. I have two that are 1.5 years old and I've heard some on here say theirs are 5+ years old.
