Lamp help

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what kind of bulb holder is best.
I currently have the wire kind by Exo Terra and use the Solar Glo MVB 125w.

I have decided I would like to try another brand of bulb and was looking at the Mega-Ray 100w self ballasted bulb as I've read that they are better.



Do you guys think that I am best sticking with the wire holder or should I buy one of the dome kind for this bulb?

The Mega-Ray is a good bulb. Get a dome type hood from Lowe's or Home Depot as they are much cheaper {$10 to $15} and the same thing. Make sure it has a ceramic base. The hood will help direct the heat and your tort will be better off....

Yes, I think the wire hood would let too much heat escape? I looked up that bulb, it seems really nice
