I have a day off. Meaning, I'm bored with little better to do. So here's some pictures and word vomit.
So, technically this one isn't actually "mine." I have no cats of my own... Though Shirley might disagree with that assertion. I work at a wonderful little pet food store, at which Shirley is one of 4 resident cats. She has a reputation for being a jerk, but for some strange reason has decided I'm her favorite. She demands my attention. Like here. Here, I was busily rotating a stack of Merrick cans when Shirley decided giving her a backrub was much higher priority. So she sat down on my stack in progress and began talking at me.
Little buttmunch. Oh well, she's cute. Lookit da face!
Ok, then there's those of the canine variety. Stump and Ginger. It used to be Stump and Sammy, but my stinky, grouchy, beloved old lady finally passed on. I like to think she's somewhere across Rainbow Bridge having a good ol' boxing match with Simba.
(Sammy is the black blob. Simba is the fawn. Taken in 2002.)
She passed back in February. I miss my big old boxer.
Anyway, now it's Stump and Ginger. I wish I could say Ginger was my dream of having a staffie girl realized. But no, Ginger is/was my mom's deaf corgi mix. Which is ok, too.
I could word vomit all day about how Ginger wound up here in sunny SoCal. But the long and short of it is my mother is a certifiable nutjob that went off the deep end, and her ex-boyfriend is a despicable (not family friendly words). So Ginger came here because my dad and I are the only people in the family that could (or would. Ginger's a jerk).
So, Stump is pretty happy about no longer being an only dog. And I'm very happy that Ginger decided my dad is now her person. Because it means I still only have one dog. I will have my staffie yet! But for now, Ginger is turning out to be a pretty great dog without my mother around to encourage bad behavior.
Ok, I'm done now. Thank you for reading. Or at least looking at the pictures. It's ok, I would probably ignore my rambling, too.
