The Swamp Monster!

It was dark, and the swamp reverberated with the singing of frogs and crickets. Then the moon slid out from behind a cloud, shining down on the thick mossy plants and pools of murky water. Suddenly my eyes lit upon a shadowy figure rising slowly through the dusky moss; gradually the figure grew, larger and increasingly disturbing. My heart pounded in my chest as I realized that I was face to face with such a horrifying apparition. Could it be...? Was it...?
