Hi all. Received this plant as a thank-you gift. Decided to bring it home from the office today and would like to place it in either my Leopard or Russian's enclosure. Question is - What is it AND Is it safe/non-toxic????

Aaaww, c'mon, - anybody know?!

It's a croton. Do not feed.

Correct. It's croton. And it's a do not feed one. Lookee here:

Also, if it had been edible, always remember to wait a few months because some of the gift plants, many actually, if not most all, have fertilizers and pesticides, to keep them in the retail places longer and those can be very bad for our tortoises. Like dead bad. You want to be sure that stuff flushes out before any possible eating. : )

Thank you so much, pfara and BeeBee - much appreciated! And, yes, I've had it on my desk a few months, so I figured that was long enough to wait for feeding or placing in the enclosure. Anyhow, thanks again!!!
