Is the tortoise house lighting safe for us ?

Hi I got my tortoise yesterday and have the table house in my room . The light we have is a combination light of uv and basking light . It is NOT a spiral bulb light . And I have been told it is safe for the tortoise but is its safe of us humans . As I'm not sure whether the light gives of harmful radiation and as it's in my bedroom I'm not sure whether we should move the torts house .
Please help as I want what's best for my tort .

No, that light is perfectly safe for you if it is correctly set up in the Tortoise habitat. I imagine if you have it pointing at your bed or directly at you it might be harmful, but if its pointing down into the tortoise habitat like it should be, it can't harm you.
