This is one of my res babies. About 9 months old. I have another res, who has a tiny little tail with no bulge at the top like this one. (I'm assuming to hold eggs?) and I have a missi map who is so small and I can't tell yet ..

Can anyone tell or not if this one is a female??

Thanks guys :)

Because the cloaca is so far away from the body, it looks male to me. What do the front claws look like? Males have very long front claws.

What about how my other res has a tiny little tail and they are both same size and age?? The other turtle doesn't look like it has a bulge at all on it..
I dunno it's so hard to tell ??

It's a young male. The fingernails will grow longer with age but its no doubt a male. Looks like you have a pair my friend. I'm 100% positive on this. You can take it to the bank ;)

I agree you have a male and female . I Would split them up and not let them breed . There is way to many now with no home . You can keep them together just don' t let the eggs hatch .

Thanks for the information guys .. !!

I don't plan on breeding them.. I understand the high volume of turtles in rescues being euthanized etc . And I think it's horrific. (If I was wealthy I would love to donate to these rescues but unfortunately I just don't have the money to do so)
I'm not a turtle breeder and I don't plan on breeding them... Not only that but their from the same clutch (I dunno if that matters with turtles but anyway) not planning on breeding them..
I love animals more then anything.

Also, I thought aquatic turtles had to lay eggs in some sort of land for them to be good eggs??? And that if laid in the water their no good? ( not sure if this information is correct)
I don't plan on separating them at the moment as they all seem to be getting along .. Will they just automatically try and mate? Since they are only 9 months isn't that a little young for mating ??
