Is Ivan a boy?

I believe Ivan is a boy but would love your thoughts. Attached are some not so good pictures that may or may not help. He tucks his big tail off to the side, so it is kind of hard to see. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thanks! My fiance and I immediately thought that, too, but I always like to do a little more research with people who actually know what they are talking about.

Yah know what I am talking about, ok sounds good.
Males usually have long tail carried to the side, females usually have short tails that sort of stick out, russians are one of the easier to sex.

I think this is a boy based upon the indentation in the plastron.

You will know for sure if you put a resin tortoise in his pen and notice him humping it and making a sqeaking noise.....
That's what our tortoise did, and we then knew unequivocally that it was a boy.

That's what our tortoise did, and we then knew unequivocally that it was a boy.

That made me laugh out loud, because I know it would probably happen here too if I tried that. Boys will be boys, right? :D
