This is a really silly question but does anyone else have a little tortoise who doesn't like to 'do its business' in their enclosure?! Taco our Russian tortoise only ever goes when he is wondering around the room on the carpet...any suggestions?

The answer is he should not be on the floor wondering around a took of the house. Put him in his enclosure where hopefully it's the correct temps, humidity and safe. When it's nice enough outside, put him in that enclosure at least during the day.

I'm just doing what I as told. The place we got him from told us to get him out for about half hour ever few days, he is only 1. I'll leave him in his enclosure then for a few days and see what happens.

I agree about the stress pooping.
Any time any of my tortoises go into a box, like for a trip to the vet, they poop. It's not because they like the box.
Are you not able to go out doors and sit and supervise your little tortoise for a little while? Loose inside of the house is a recipe for disaster on a couple of different levels.
Trust the advise given here.( Not so much that given by myself:rolleyes:) You guys will be fine.

My tortoises (two russians) usually go when i bath them, sometimes rarely in their enclosure! I don't take them out of their enclosures much, it could stress them out and i work alot of the time! I make sure they have everything they need though

Yes mines go when they are being soaked. My female, Khaleesi use to only go when shes soaked but lately shes been pooping every day. And since i dont soak her daily, i have to clean her enclosure often :(
Im not complaining though. Im glad she does her business daily. She usually does it by the food dish though
