I was wondering why the price of the indian star is so high in the US compare to my country Vietnam. Its only $150 over there, even cheaper than a sulcata?

Probably has something to do with supply and demand. I think your country still imports them in from India. Although it's illegal. Are there more indian star tortoises than sulcatas in your country?

I think they illegally bring the tortoise to vietnam and sell them at cheap price. I wonder to ship here one tortoise, does anyone know about shipping live animal oversea?

It is the same situation in China. The Indian Star Tortoise are fairly cheap compared with US. An inch and half hatchling go between $40~60 USD. An yearling go for about $100 USD. All the tortoises are protected by Chinese laws, transport or even owning a tortoise are against the law but tortoise/turtles tread and aids are everywhere on the net.

Why is so cheap in China? Thanks to the underground/under the table "import".
