I have a Brinsea 40 Octagon Advance incuabtor. Can I use this? Do I need to do a cool off period through out the day? Thanks!

I am not sure about the incubator but I do know that you can't wait too long to transport them because they will start to develop and when you move them it could cause some problems

Yes, I dug them up in less than 24 hours. :) She laid 25 total but we had an issue the day she laid. The males (Bonnie and Clyde) have never done this before either. One of my males, Bonnie, pushed her off her nest while she was laying and stomped on the hole. He then put his head in the hole. (All while I was on the opposite side of the yard running towards them) After that she frantically turned in circles looking in the hole then stomping in the hole with her front foot pushing off to turn for 30 min before leaving the nest area. I thought only the top egg was ruined but while digging them up over half were. I'm hoping these make it but I don't have high hopes. Last year she laid over 100 so I'll get more and able to test this incubator while looking for an actual reptile incubator. I'm wanting a large one but all I can find are ones the size of a mini fridge. I also raise guineas, chickens, peafowl and ducks (I have a goose but he's more of a dog that lives inside due to attachment issues on both ends lol!!) That I'll use the Brinsea for. I really wish there was a dual purpose cabinet style incubator.

I've never heard of that brand, but if you can get it up to about 87F degrees and it stays steady at that temperature, then I don't see why you can't use it. It doesn't turn the eggs does it? Reptile eggs need to stay in the same position throughout the incubation.

I have it set to 87 and 80% humidity. I took the cradle off so it doesn't rotate. My only concern now is the fans. It's not a still air incubator.

WOW! 25 eggs at once is amazing. I have a clutch of 12 one time and was freaked out. Keep the incubator like you have it at 87 and high humidity. Can you unplug the fans somehow? Air movement isn't a big deal unless it messes with the temps or humidity. Put the eggs in there and leave them alone, in around 100-120 days you will have some babies breaking out. Good Luck!!

No way to disconnect them without ruining the incubator.

She laid well over 100 last year. I figure she'll be a 200 a year egg layer before long. She'll be 8 this summer. My other 2 are 12 going on 13 this summer but are both males.

I got a humidity pump as well that came in today. I hooked that up to keep the humidity up and stabilized.
