I got a few from that line, too. They're such cool turtles.

Such interesting creatures. I, too, hope they are a pair.

quote: "Very cool species! Man I would be nervous to even keep those haha. "

Captive born ones are much much easier than wc ones. CB are as bullet proof as they come. They eat anything and are pretty tough. Just keep them damp and between 50-80f. If you get imports you should start with 50 if you hope to have a pair in a year.

They are pretty good at temp sexing them so if they told you they are a pair they most likely are.

One of my favorite species for sure, they seem to be the smartest turtle or tortoise I have seen by far. They will chase a laser pointer like a cat or just chase your cat.

Hey Kelly have you heard of the '' Mushroom Butter" breeders use for their hatchling Impressed. Ive never tried to create it but it consists of a puree of vitamin, mineral supplements together with beetle larvae (Zophobas morio), land snails (Helix aspersa) and mushrooms. Its suppose to represent the insect larvae on the mushrooms found in the wild. The Turtle Conservancy magazine the "Tortoise" has a pile of great info on the Impressa.

Good stuff andrew. I dont quite do a feeding method like that. I use oyster mushrooms, mixed with croc chow, water cress sprouts, pothos and alocasia leaves mixed in for their chow. The croc chow I only add 3 times a week though.
