Star tortoise, nice looking one. I can't say which type of star it is though.

I am by no way an expert, (I'm usually asking questions not answering them!) but that looks like a star tortoise to me too!!

Welcome to the forum - there are some great people on here who no doubt will come along and give you better information than I can

Hi Weiyo:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

May we know your name and where you are?

I'm guessing you are someplace in the area of Malaysia, Thailand, etc, and those type tortoise are pretty common in your area. The star tortoises are very expensive here in the states, and not common at all.

flowers are ok, lettuce in moderation. Spring mix is a good choice, it might be called rocket salad over there. No worries about telling us where you are we have quite a few members in your similar situation.

im from singapore, flowers as food is hard to get, i dont have a garden or yard as im living in high rised building. could only get grocery greens and hays. what substrate would be good for them? too much substrate to choose from over the net and im very confused if its a indian/SriLanakan or burmese star tortoise. it got a carapace of a indian/srilankan buta plastron of a burmese. hope someone could enlighten me.

Wow! I was from Singapore too, I think I have done a search for 'Singapore' in this forum, and the results came back with a few star tortoise owners! So you are not alone, Weiyo!

I think what you are saying is that the plastron of your star tortoise does not have the star patterns, and so you think that is more 'Burmese' like?
For very young indian/sri lankan star tortoise, the star patterns on their plastron does not get developed until they get older. so I think it is likely that you have an indian/sri lankan, so wait a few years and peek below the plastron again! :)
Welcome, welcome!!

i think its an indian or sri lankan, aside from its common in our region, noticed some dark pigmentation on its head wc is not typcal for a burmese.

anyway, anything you need to know is here
am also new here and got 2 stars and they do good in our climate.

welcome
