The first one is mallow, but the second one isn't nipplewort. Don't know what it is.

yes, mallow is good... no clue what the other one is tho... is it a weed or a larger plant? does it bloom?

I haven't seen a bloom. It's spreading all over like crazy and so far it's only about four inches high in these mini bushes. I really have no idea what it is.

Does the second one have a smell? It looks like some type of mint the way it leaf formations are growing, those stay pretty short if they have room to run. But this looks a tad shiny for specifically mint... hmm. Maybe a related type.

No mint smell. It is really glossy too and it has tiny spines along the leaf. I really have no idea what it could be.

I agree on the mallow. Take a sample of the other one to a local nursery. It sure looks like something a tortoise would like, but I don't know what it is either.
