Hello Everyone. I have a few questions. Now I know that Cherry Heads love to have humid enclosures. Now I have a 30 gallon tank for my Hatchling Cherry Head Tortoise. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can make it have high humidity in there for her. I also wanted to get a fogger too maybe there is away to make one myself? I really need help on this one. I'm lost here on how to do this.

I also did want to put plants in there too but seems like she doesn't like them because she knocks them down all the t
ime. So I gave up on putting the plants in there BUT if someone has thoughts on HOW to keep the plants in place and have her not knock them down would be GREAT. :)
Thank you for the help in advance :)

You can add a lot of substrate, then plant the greenery in pots that are sunk into the substrate. If you buy small plants, this works better.

Covering the top of the enclosure will help to hold humidity inside, you can do it simply with plastic wrap (careful of lights) or tin foil, or go for a better fit but more cost and use wood or glass, or even acrylic/plexi to cover the top.

You can buy a fogger from a pet store, but in my opinion that is too expensive, just get a cheap humidifier for it and pipe the humid air right into the enclosure. Or if you do close the top well enough you could just spray once or twice a day with a cheap hand held spray bottle and it should stay humid.

I'll have to get pot plants and do that. I will try that out. Can I mix the potting soil with my wood chips? I know I have seen some ppl do this. If so what kind should I get that doesn't have any pesticides?

Oh yeah tin foil would work... I'll have to do that tomorrow morning. Everyone is sleeping now so can't be to loud :p

I have seen foggers that are a lot of money. So I'm trying to find a cheaper way to doing this. I do spray the substrate EVERY morning and her shell every other day and then the every other days I soak her for 15-20 mins. Should I soak her longer or is that good enough time?

For a hatching I would soak her every day,for the substrate I would use coco coir, it will hold moisture well helping the humidity control, as well as being soft and easily navigated by hatchlings. I wouldn't add potting soil at all, it almost always uses some sort of fertilizer, and you want nothing with moisture control as torts will eat those white beads. You can use organic top soil in an enclosure, usually at home depot for 2$ a bag. Or just plant right into coco.
