Humidity?

I know humidity plays a roll on shell development, but how important is it to maintain it above 50....It seems as much as I try I can not get my enclosure to get higher then 40. The substrate is mixed play sand and coconut choir about 3 inches and I mist with hot water twice a day. I have 18" uvb tube, and a 100watt heat lamp. Any suggestions??? Thanx

Keep doing that and cover half the top with foil...get some plants that helps also
