No. But they are related and both are in the family Moraceae. Mulberry plants that we are familiar with are in the genus Morus, while figs are all in the genus Ficus.
Thanks. Can torts eat the foliage from the ficus genus family. I have 2 fig trees to grow.

Yes, they can eat the leaves of Ficus. Many species of Ficus have a sticky latex-like sap but my tortoises don't seem to be too bothered by it and will pick at the leaves of Ficus benjamina, F. petiolaris, F.burtt-davyi, F. microcarpa and others.

Thanks again

I have a ficus babits to grow outside. Supposedly cold hardy, don't know if I will every get to the fruiting stage over here, but foliage is OK.
Also a ficus carica panache which I intend to grow in my indoor enclosure, hopefully train it to grow along one of the walls, I just need to keep an eye out for roots causing damage.

When is it safe to put him back in his home? I don't think he likes the hospital much

This is the light I've been using on my banana plant & hibiscus since I brought them in for the winter (I do not have a green thumb!) Will it bother the torts? I plan to hang one on the open end where the taller plants will be and several feet above them.
