So I was just wondering when i feed my Greek tortoise how often should I use the calcium? Ever morning? Every other day? Or what? It's not that big yet but it's not small.
If you are feeding it a perfectly healthy, well-balanced diet of the right kinds of foods, you would never have to offer calcium or vitamins. But, in the real world, most of us offer them at some point.
You have a pretty good safety range of dosages but we really, really want most of the calcium to come from the diet. If you can do that, then a small pinch once a week or so should be fine. If you are a little more unsure, then do it a little more often.
Remember, though, that they cannot really USE the calcium without vitamin D or UVB lighting.
