I've always allowed my torts to feed as they please. Some would eat more than others. I know that overfeeding can cause shell deformities. Then how much is much? How much should a leopard about 16in long or a radiated about 6in be eating in a day?

I feed a mixture of grass, sweet potato leaves, vegies, timothy hay and mazuri pellets.

The standard I've heard the most is given them 20 minutes or so to eat and then take away the remaining food. Much more than that and they'll risk fast growth or even overweight, especially if they don't have a large pen to exercise in.

I guess my question is rather open ended & stupid. Some of my torts would eat themselves silly when fed their favourite hibiscus flowers, while others would eat a little & walk away. Some seem to graze a little throughout the day on lawn grass. I'm just afraid that the ones with the big appetite would end up with too rapid growths.
