How long do Boxies live for?

I was talking to a teacher yesterday at school and he was telling me that he has two boxies in his backyard that are 80 years old. I was wondering how long they live for? I know that Terryo has posted that she had some from her father that were around 60 years old, but that was the oldest that I'd heard about until yesterday.

No one knows for sure, but probably several hundred years, IF nothing kills them. I know of one confirmed case of a boxie in Louisiana that lived 172 years. It was a wild caught adult when they started that clock. It died when it was hit by a car.

That is so sad Roachman, hit by a car at 172 years? I can't believe that they live that long. Wow.
