How cold is too cold to put my Russian outside in his outdoor enclosure? Temps during the day in Texas have been 66 F - about 73 F for the past few days, including rain making the ground colder so I am not sure whether to put my tort out or not. Also the sun is not been out in a couple days. So what the lowest safe temp for him to be outside during the day? Thanks

If its not sunny and warm, there is no point in it.

If its dry, 65+, and sunny then you can put him out. I wouldn't bother outside of that.

If you have a temperature gun check the temperature of various parts of the enclosure, right at ground level. But without some good sunshine I seriously doubt it's going to be warm enough. And with the rain I would definitely say no. You don't want your tortoise to be cold and wet. It is amazing how warm it can actually be in the enclosure with the sunshine in though.

Adding to what has been said, you russian should have a chance to warm up a bit if you don't plan on allowing it to hibernate.
