Sooner or later, any box, whether insulated or not, will adjust to the level of the outside air temperature. The box might stay warm for a day or two, but without a heater it would soon cool to the temperature outside.

Just to give you an example:

I live in a pretty small two bedroom house. When I first moved here I had the walls insulated and added more insulation to the attic. Right now the temp inside the house, without heating or cooling is about 70F degrees. Outside it is 90F. Tonight it will cool outside to around 60F. My house will slowly but surely warm up inside until it will be almost as warm as it is outside. It might take a week. And that's a house. A small box/dog house probably would take a day or two to reach the outside temperature. And the colder it is outside, the sooner the box would cool.
