No idea on the sex. I just tend to use male pronouns with him because it feels right.

I know what you mean.

Back in the early 90's, the petstore in my hometown had two of them - for $80 each. I wanted them SOOOO bad. They were gorgeous, they looked like they had been carved from stone, they were so perfect. I asked nicely, and then begged, cried, pleaded, made promises, and finally generally threw myself - but there was no way I was getting those torts. My grandmother said so was not spending $160 on "a couple-a turtles." :rolleyes:

Now you can't get one for much less than $500... Darn her, lol.

Reminds me of when I bought my pancake tortoise almost 25 years ago, paid 90 dollars for it, the pet store let me pay it off in four installments, now you can't touch them for usually under 4 or 5 hundred now. :(
