I recently put together a 6 by 2 enclosure and I house it in my garage. I also recently installed an aircondition heating system for when the temp gets too cold as I like in new york. I currently have 2 che’s and basking light and a UV light. The temp on one end is about 77 and on the other side 84 degrees. Looking for guidance, along with how high should the lamps and che’s be from the tortoise. Thanks again.

Greetings. I’m sure others will provide some input, but tell us more about your tortoises. Age, size, etc. Keep in mind that CHEs arent recommended for large tortoises, since it’s very easy to get & stay too close and cause burn/injury to the tort’s carapace. A better option would be Radiant Heat Panels.
Lastly, your enclosure is six feet long, two feet wide, but how high? Or, is it open-topped?
